The professional terminology we use daily in our work, while reading industry articles, or even during conversations with colleagues, subtly permeates our language. While walking my dog, I ponder the responsiveness of the retractable leash, and when I see my dog looking for a spot to relieve himself, I mutter to myself that he is ‘iterating’ again instead of just doing it right away. That’s why, when explaining what I do, I need to put in a lot of effort to choose words differently than they would naturally come to mind. This handbook is a lifeline in case that effort doesn’t succeed.
